Iroquois County CUSD 9 is embarking on a study to understand the planning options for our elementary school facilities. Reifsteck Reid & Company Architects in partnership with DLR Group, will take a three phase approach to their work. In the first phase, the team will focus on opportunities for funding assistance from state and federal agencies as well as work with the district's bond counsel to understand budget parameters. Preliminary findings will be ready in late September. Once the Board is comfortable with the findings, phase two will seek community input on available options to address facility needs, including the potential replacement of elementary school buildings. Should local funds be required to support the chosen planning option, an eventual phase three would focus on procuring available state and federal funding as well as potential bond referendum assistance. We invite the community to come and listen to a brief presentation by the team on June 27th at 5pm at the Unit Office, 1411 W. Lafayette Street, where they will outline this process and answer questions from the Board.
