PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

To the Watseka Junior High School Community:

I would like to start by saying thank you to the Watseka community for welcoming me during my first year as a building principal.  It was a truly unique experience becoming a principal in the middle of this crazy time under COVID guidelines.  We had many challenges together, but I can truly say with confidence that we had a successful year, and I will continue to build relationships with our amazing staff, students and families as we will continue to strive for greatness.

Change can be intimidating but exciting! We finished this year at Glenn Raymond and are now transitioning into the high school building. Our district will be building a new K-12 campus and as part of that project, we are making our temporary home on the second floor of the current high school building. We will create new memories as a 6-12 shared building.  This transition will allow us to offer opportunities for our students that were not possible in the past.  This year we offered 5 elective courses, and next year we will have 14 elective courses that will be part of a rotation for each grade level.

There are many great things happening in our district, and I am so excited to be a part of it, and I can only hope that our students and parents are excited as well.  My continued growth as a principal as well as the growth and opportunities for the future of our district have me ready for an amazing 2021-2022 school year.

Go Utes!!

Mr. Jeff Perzee, Principal
