The TIP the Scale Campaign: Attached are both English and Spanish versions of the latest newsletter to remind parents of the important role they continue to play in prevention. In this newsletter, parents are encouraged to have frequent straightforward talks with their kids about the risks of teen drinking. Helpful insight is provided on how to approach such conversations and why creating/maintaining a strong and healthy parent-child relationship is vital.

Arika Stanley and Jordan Schroeder participated in IL Senators Youth Advisory Council. Thank you to Mr. Barickman and his team for giving us the opportunity to be part of the Youth Advisory Committee. While we note that how it took place this year is not as it normally would, it was still a very exciting and eye opening experience nonetheless. The topics covered were ones that we, as students, had opinions to speak upon which was beneficial to be able to see both sides of the topic. It was interesting and informative to hear the opinions of students who were our age, instead of only learning about politics from a school setting. It was also fun to go over and learn more about the politicians and positions that run our state. Overall, we are very thankful for having the opportunity to participate in something that was both fun and informative.
