The Watseka Warrior Mathletes competed at the Annual ICTM-Parkland Regional Math Competition this past weekend. This is the 50th year for the math competition held at Parkland College with 15 total schools and 225 students competing. We had a great day of competing and were able to come home with some hardware! Elizabeth Fatka earned 5th Place in her Individual Geometry Competition. Elizabeth also earned another medal with Drake Stumpfol by tying for 3rd Place in their Freshman/Sophomore 2 Person Team Competition. Rounding out our medals for the day, CJ Murray tied for 10th Place in his Individual PreCalculus Competition. We had a fun academic day! We grew our critical thinking and problem solving skills, and saw challenging problems as opportunities today. The Warrior Mathletes are coached by Nick Harvey. The complete team pictured left to right consists of First Row: Elizabeth Fatka, Drake Stumpfol - Second Row - Jade Maples, Coach Mr. Nick Harvey, Andy Chen - Third Row - CJ Murray, Peter Jeglinski

Please note the location change of our screening this year!! If you are interested in enrolling your child in our preschool program, this is the first step towards getting onto our wait list! We hold screenings every March and August so there will always be future opportunities as well. If your child is not yet three, you may contact Jeanne Brown for a birth-3 screening at 815-304-4106. This would not put them on our waitlist but would still allow them to receive a free developmental screening. Thank you!

Kids Heart Challenge is underway and our school is excited about feeling good while doing good! Glenn Raymond Elementary is helping kids with special hearts through Kids Heart Challenge. We want as many families as possible to learn about heart health and the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR.

You can help by completing Finn’s Mission. When your student completes all the steps, they’ll earn a Lifesavers Cape and earn a chance to win two tickets to Super Bowl LXI in 2027!

Sign up today at http://www2.heart.org/goto/GlennRaymond or by using the AHA Schools app.

Mrs. Bandur's Civics class had the privilege of having IL Rep Jason Bunting speak to their class today. They got to participate in a debate on cellphones in schools and got to listen about what features make up "good government". Thank you so much Rep Bunting for taking time out of your day to come and talk to high schoolers.
