Each year, WJH and WCHS students participate in the American Legion Poppy Poster Contest. Poster designs are submitted to our local American Legion (Watseka) where members of the Legion and Legion Auxiliary pick the winners. These students poster designs were mailed to Springfield where they will compete in the state competition. Last year, we had 3 winners at the state level! Winners are then invited to the American Legion state convention in July where their poster design is recognized in part of the ceremony.
We grabbed a pic today of our winners with some of our local American Legion & American Legion Auxiliary members.

Last Thursday, one of our junior band members, Anthony, organized a Kids Night Out for a civics project. He invited students from GRS to spend 2 hours playing games and other music-related activities. He organized parent helpers as well as other WCHS student helpers. There were over 110 students who attended and all had a great time! Great job Anthony and thanks to all the students and parents who helped make it a successful evening!

This is a message is for Wanda Kendall Kindergarten parents.
Due to a water main break Wanda Kendall is without water and toilet facilities. We will be following an early release schedule (1:00 release) for all Kindergarten students. Students who typically ride the bus can be picked up by a parent/guardian or will have to stay until bus service is available at 3:00. So, you are welcome to come pick up your child early.
Should you have any questions, please call the office.
