Tyler Waugh and Hunter Wolfe received a $500 Grant from Eastern Illini for their Civics Project this year. They organized and carried out a Pen Pal Project between WCHS high schoolers and GRS elementary students in two different classes. This money will be used to organize a celebration bringing the Pen Pals together to meet. Tyler and Hunter are pictured with their project mentor, Claire Henneike.

Unit 9 is very excited to announce that Miss Norder will be our new Transitional Kindergarten teacher in the Fall. Miss Norder has taught kindergarten for 16 years and 5 years of pre-K. We are thankful for her dedication to our littlest warriors!
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a bridge between Pre-K and Kindergarten that allows students extra time for growth and development.
Students must meet age, academic, and social requirements to attend TK.
If your child will be old enough for kindergarten in the fall, be sure to schedule an April 9th screening appointment. Start by filling out this form: https://tinyurl.com/23u9newstudent

WK Kinders had a wonderful night at the Literacy Luau! Students were able to read to dogs, make sand castles, fish for words, design a snack, hear stories, create a craft, and shop the book fair!!! Special thanks to the Watseka Public Library and all the staff that made this night a success.

Congratulations to our mathletes who competed against 11 teams at the Bishop
McNamara Math Invitational last week. The 7th graders placed 2nd in the team event & 3rd in
the relay event. The 8th graders placed 4th in the team event. GREAT JOB Math Team! Their

The Watseka Warrior Mathletes competed at the Annual ICTM-Parkland Regional Math Competition this past weekend. Although we didn't come home with any medals competing against much larger teams this year, we had a fun academic day! We grew our critical thinking and problem solving skills, sang the Unit Circle song while riding in the bus, and saw challenging problems as opportunities today. The Warrior Mathletes are coached by Nick Harvey.
The complete team pictured left to right consists of First Row: Maya Machev - Second Row - Onyx Greene, Ainsley Urban - Third Row - Jade Maples, Skyla Kennedy - Fourth Row - Andy Chen, Peter Jeglinski
